Little kid at the dinner table unexpectedly blurts out some coming of age Wisdom.

Today marks quite a monumental moment in life: 20 years ago, I was in Kindergarten; 10 years ago, I was at the DMV receiving my very first Drivers License; and today, I am renewing my Drivers License in California--the destination I've pursued after a long and, honestly, arduous journey. The incredible wisdom I've learned will travel with me for the many months, years, decades, and, if I'm lucky enough, century to come.

Dr. Phil mentioned on his show that the brain stops growing at the age of 25--well, thanks, but I'd like to think my mind will continue to expand well into my 30s or even 40s. But in the case that Dr. Phil and those scientists who discovered this fact are right, here is the wisdom I've gained from years past:

-I'm an adult now...I guess...(yeah, still taking a bit of convincing for me too)

-I will never be able to run on the treadmill and read a book at the same time; those who do make me nauseous just watching them

-I will always be misunderstood by everyone, I understand things differently--and that's ok!

-Taking advice from people means considering their agenda and if it is in line with mine--it takes guts to drop advice that doesn't suit the path, but I have to live the results so might as well accept what moves me forward on my destiny.

-I still can't get in the habit of getting all "pretty" in the 'early' morning, and I probably never will.

-Forget being an adult, I'm still young! Being Childlike Rules!

-Office jobs and me, we don't get along. It's not even a love/hate relatonship. There's a lot of negative emotion around that.

-Running away and escaping from my problems turned out to be the best thing I've ever done to save my own life.

-Knowing that a spirit is within me, growing that understanding and allowing it to guide me is the best life discovery I've made

-Without living authentically from your heart, you cause distress and end up in experiences that hinder your progress and continue a failing cycle.

-The definition of acting is: Learning something that is initially an unconscious process, bringing it conscious for purposes of awareness and application, and then releasing it back into an unconscious, instinctual performance of the human behavior. Bam!

-Time prevents everything from happening all at once and causing spontaneous combustion.

-Be careful where you place your energy--too often we use so much energy attempting to gain someone's approval, love, attention, etc who doesn't want to return our efforts. Look to those who openly welcome what you offer.

-Be IN SYNC with your beliefs, actions, and as a whole person--everyone will appreciate you for it.

-Guilt is a major issue that must be resolve above all other issues.

-Passion in life is a requirement. And if everyone went with their gut passion, the world would be a much more comfortable place to live.

-It's easier when you plant your seeds with one potted vision in mind. Don't know what I mean, ask me!

-In that regard, the Nay-Sayers have a place in life too, only to give you strength to keep going.

-Life is more like Loopty-loops than a circle or straight line.

-Loopty-loop is actually a word! I win!

-Everything in life is just simple mathematical word problems. i.e. Earn money + spend less than you earn = Financial stability. Current Weight - (Eat less than daily calories needed + Exercise) = Lose Weight.

-I love Ellen Burstyn! She is one person I know i must meet.

-Learn about what Sufism is.

-It only takes 1% effort and energy to create a Positive result. It takes 200% more effort and energy to create a Negative result.

-Only the wise know to back off when the pushing isn't worth it and allow it to manifest on its own. A fool keeps pushing at any and all costs.

I’m sure as I travel into this next phase of my life, There will be many more wisdoms to share, and with the decision to become a performer and have the ability to share these insights through the screen and stage, I look very much forward to giving to everyone.

From my heart to yours,

Me.
