I know my yoga coach was trying to tell me something...

It was a bit of an awareness awakening from my yoga coach. He was watching me, partly because the only space available for me to stand in was right in front of his platform. He said, "if you want to come out of the postures before I'm done with the dialogue, that's fine. Remember, it's your yoga practice..." and yeah, it's my yoga practice. And like I was mentioning before about how you do one thing in an aspect of your life is how you do in all aspects of life. Well, yes it's my acting practice, and God no if i'm in a terrific amazing performance I am not going to back out... but in many degrees...............I do.... sadly...

I did some more reading and came up with some great insight. There was a study by a professor at UCLA about believability. He discovered most people believe in something in different interpretations (visual, auditory, and literal words). The percentages of the majority are:

55% through what a person looks like
38% through how a person sounds
AND...
7% through the words we use.

So in a sense, the best way to win at an audition is by having the visual part of the character, and the sounds (announciations/tone/vocal congruency) to them. The words are just a little minor additions, like icing on the cake, that allow the other character to react with how they'll look about the words and how they respond with their sounds. hmmm.. i'm on to something here....

anyway, it's later than I thought... so I'm off to bed.... must get rested!
