I woke up this morning in a peaceful state. It was a little later than usual--Pretzel didn't wake me up at 8:30 to go outside, she slept in too! But i started to put things together as far as what to do for the day, and a little voice said "Call Maja Talent." So I said "Sure, where's their number...? I'll just ask if they have an open call to go meet them." If you haven't been following, Darlene Hansen asked Maja Talent to call her about getting me in and possibly signed with them. So I called, and I got Belinda right away--she recognized my name and told me to come in right away! I got off the phone and was like--how weird of an event that was. It was similar to the audition I had for the game show where I was almost asleep and I felt someone tap my shoulder and whisper "You got it..."
I met with her and Wow! What a difference from Vince! I walked in and she warmly acknowledged I was there even though she was with a client! She was so excited to see me and after she looked at everything I had she was all over wanting me! The fact that I've taken the Ivana Chubbuck technique with Jeanie, the fact I'm looking for work myself, the fact I'm serious and taking workshops continually. When I left, she came up and gave me a hug and jumped up and down about how excited she was about me. I get to see her again on Wednesday to sign the paperwork and stuff. I can't wait because it sounds like she really wants to work for me!
I'm so excited, nervous, happy, proud, inspired, and overwhelmed! Like, this is the most awesome thing that could happen to this point. Most of it I can attribute it to going back to the start and getting rooted in my truth again. Some of it is because I've started to take more ownership that I believe in me and that I am completely capable to create anything and be.
A couple of things popped out at me while I was re-reading my Chopra book:
"Intention is the real power behind desire because it is desire without attachment to the outcome. Desire in most people is attention with attachment to the outcome. But when we combine Present-moment Awareness is powerful, because the future is created by our actions in the present. We cannot take action in the past or in the future. Past and Future are born in the imagination. Only the Present, which is awareness, is real and eternal." (Pg 64-65)
This really stuck out because this is what put me in that state of 'stillness' before I went to bed. It is easier on the Psyche to not 'foresee' the future. And--not to bring the Past to the Present Moment because it creates the obstacles of how you interact with what comes in. He mentions that these are 90% of the obstacles that keep us from our intentions and desires. Also, the obstacles keep from the stillness--like how Chopra mentions about the Empire State Building coming in if you're state of mind is too stirred up. It also causes one to "project" one's beliefs outward--and even though those beliefs are meant in the best interest at times, it can actually be harmful.
The other part was following the above....
"The remaining obstacles can be transformed into opportunites through one-pointed intention. This means holding our attention to the intended outcome with such unbending purpose that we refuse to allow obstacles to consume our attention or to dissipate the focused quality of our attention. This is the power of focused intention and detachment simultaneously." (Pg 65-66)
This method is to be considered in life and even in my acting work. Because it is an "unbending purpose" it raises the stakes higher in my acting work therefore any obstacle that my scene partner brings up in the script is not worth letting go of my unbending purpose. As far as in Life, It allows a clear focus and intent to get what you want from life. There's probably a better way of wording that, but it has escaped me.
I started re-reading Be Yourself by Mike Robbins and this time I am going to do the exercises in there. Even just reading the first chapter has re-opened my eyes and shed some more light on how I function and how much more I still need to work for my Authenticity. We'll see how that goes.
Taking these days off is worth more than I would've been paid to work. I am excited and inspirited to do more! Let's see where the road leads to now....
