Workshop, amazing.... oh my god....

Oh my God! It is absolutely amazing when your surrounded by people that are willing to support each other, learn and grow with each other, and best of all, are going through the same things as you are. Now I get why they say, "If you want to Act, go where the Actors are." This workshop with Jeanie was absolutely the most wonderful, amazing, and inspiring workshop ever. Just being down here alone I can tell that my life in general is a thousand times better. But with the class being so intimate, it was an amazing time to see everyone grow and even better feel my own self become more grounded and firm on my acting plane.

The way Jeanie hosts and directs the class is amazing. And, I cried. My scenes were Pretty Woman and The Wedding Singer (for those who haven't been following). Like I discovered through my first "Faux Audition" report that I did for this blog, I didn't go deep enough. With the practice I've been doing, at least I am doing more than scratching the surface on most scripts initially. When I had my lesson with my other teacher, I am able to pick up on the objectives, some obstacles, and find a substitution within a couple rehearsals. After today, I have solidified matches between objectives and substitutions that work well--and I can keep using! The other steps I still need to do some conscious work on them before I am ready to say, "By George I've Got it!" I also found that I wasn't nervous about the words anymore since I did all the work, I knew subconsciously they would be right (or close enough). Overall, I did a pretty good job. I had self sabbatoging moment when I Knew I was on, but I wanted proof that I couldn't quite be that on, so I slacked a little, but at least I know I'm on the right path.

It was so nice to be around people that have the same long term goal as me. They were setting up stakes, so I was setting up stakes higher and we all were challenging each other. It was so interesting seeing where other people were coming from and how it would affect their performance and then matching the same depth within my own scenes and going that deep if not deeper. Next time Jeanie is planning on taping our scenes, so you'll be able to see the difference! WOOOO!!!

Other than that, I better get to work with some self-promotion! Need to start working with these tools and getting jobs with them. I'll try to write more here soon, I think i'm just soo overwhelmed with everything i haven't quite put it all together.
