Here's a great midday post. I have decided to abandon the choice to do the Faux Audition with the scene from The Way We Were because it's not a flowing scene as I discovered when I watched the movie. So I went through the book (Film Scenes for Actors by Joshua Karton) and found a scene from The Goddess and am "auditioning" for Rita's Role. It is a short four-page scene, but is full of mini-monologues. Similar to yesterday's post, I will add the Script breakdown for the Character tonight and then tomorrow, I will record the opposite lines and video tape my audition so I can critque it and then match it to how the actor who was cast interprets it.
I also received my scenes for the next Jeanie Yi Lee workshop coming up next weekend (or following). I received Vivian's scene from Pretty Woman and Julia's scene in the Wedding Singer. I'll be posting those as soon as I get a printer to actually have them in paper to edit (or when I go visit the library and print them, whichever comes first).
Yay! Things are rolling. Keeping it positive and gonna keep movin'!
"Ninety-nine percent of people in the world are convinced they are incapable of achieving great things, so they aim for the mediocre. The level of competition is thus fiercest for 'realistic' goals, paradoxically making them the most time- and energy-comsuming...Unreasonable and unrealistic goals are easier to achieve."
